The challenge at One Layer Wednesday this week has been set by Heather, Queen of Sponging. Her style is unmistakable, and the cards she makes are just, WOW! And now she's challenged us to take up the sponge and create our own sponged masterpieces. Hmmm.
The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is
CFC71 Create a Clean And Simple project inspired by autumn
So I've used autumn colours for my sponged card. This was my first attempt but I decided that everything was a little too high on the card, although it doesn't look as bad on the photo. All stamps for both cards are Hero Arts.
Both gorgeous - love the sponging! I think I like the asymmetry of the 'out of the box' one slightly better. I think having the sentiment under it 'lowers' it a bit! Anyway, you can always cut it and layer it onto another card - the beauty of starting with a OLW!
ReplyDeleteThese are stunning Shirley! I agree with Ardyth - I like the somewhat unexpected placement of the elements on the card front. Besides, if you wouldn't have mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed :) Great job sponging - the colors flow beautifully together!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous and definitely masterpieces! Love those fall colors!
ReplyDeleteREALLY beautiful!! Love your shading and sponging! I also like the 2nd one with the leaves peeking out! So glad that you join the fun with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeleteThat sponging technique looks so fun. It's effect is so dramatic! Your card is simply gorgeous!!! Thanks for playing along this week at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeletegorgeous! That large leaf cluster image is one of my favorites ever. I love how you've stamped it off to the side of the sponged panel. Just beautiful. ann Y.
