Seize The Birthday - And The Paintbrush
It's time for another Seize The Birthday challenge, and this week it's Anything Goes.
As well as the year-long online mixed media course that I'm taking, last week I started an online watercolouring course. The project was to make a 30-page book from watercolour paper (including bookbinding it) then draw and paint images in the book. I started making the book, then decided to make a second one, so I'm running two books at the moment - it's going to take me forever to finish them! While I was waiting for the paint to dry in both books I stamped CityGirl onto some watercolour paper in Antique Linen Distress Ink and watercoloured her. (I stamped another one in black and watercoloured her too, so she may make an appearance soon.)
For my background I used another sheet from my stash of Gelli Plate prints and mounted it onto hot pink card. I like the contrast of the hot pink and the grungy print. I watercoloured another strip of paper then stamped the sentiment in grey and stitched it to the panel, then mounted it onto the prepared card.
I'm entering this into Inkspirational - She Art.

Love this take on the Inkspirational!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYesereee...the hot pink definitely highlights the grunge print perfectly. Awesome contrast and awesome creation! Where do you get all the energy? Two courses at one time! Just thinking about all the 'creative homework assignments' has me breaking out in a cold sweat! But I know that are going to ace both of them!
ReplyDeleteHoly flibbertigibbets! This is super amazingly cool! The soft impressionistic feel of this is awesomesauce.
ReplyDeleteWow, cool word Becca! Hey this is great. I'm lovin' the BG. Think I may order a gelli plate. What size do you recommend? I love your City Girl. I am still too chicken to try watercoloring an image. For real I mean.
ReplyDeleteCity girl in her spring finery, Shirley ... what a fabulous soft and dreamy look! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWow...two books at once! Love your work as always! I want to take one of those classes this summer, If time allows!
ReplyDeleteAmazingly artsy, love it. Looks as if you're having lots of fun watercolouring. I'm sure the two books will fill up soon! Xxxx
