Seize The Birthday - Use The Negative
It's playtime again at Seize The Birthday. For this challenge, we want you to use the negative.
I've used the rose die from Penny Black. I cut the image on watercolour paper and left the image in place while I painted the rose, leaves and stem with Distress Inks. Once dry, I removed the diecut image and was left with this lovely negative. I mounted it on to burgundy (honestly!) card and added a sentiment.
And the bonus is, I've got a beautifully painted diecut rose to use on another project!
Come and join us - if you don't want to use the negative, you can still play along with any birthday themed project.

Just between us, I think I like negatives better than the die cuts themselves. Wonder what that says about me?!?! This is gorgeous. PB has the best flower products.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful - love your way of using the negative dies, Shirley!
ReplyDeleteLove the result! Thing is....I see a whole lot of positive and not one bit of negative in your BEAUTIFUL card :) Definitely a neat-o result with the bonus of having another image for a different project.
ReplyDeleteBTW - I see a nice deep, rich burgundy color on my monitor :)
This is so pure and clean, Shirley-Bee!! I'm agog with how you did this and in love!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE!!
ReplyDeleteThe idea for the card is amazing. The use of die and watercolors at the same time is so revealing. Thank you for the inspiration, once for sure I will use this wonderful idea.
