Paper-Pieced Party Dresses
Fusion meets CAS on Sunday with this card. When I saw the inspiration photo for the Fusion challenge, I immediately thought of polka-dot dresses.
As luck would have it, the challenge at CAS on Sunday is paper piecing.
So I had a rummage through my paper stash for blue and cream dotty paper, stamped some dresses from The Bee's Knees PartyDresses and fussy cut them. The background panel was in my stash of embossing folder prints à la Tim Holtz in Weathered Wood, sponged with Antique Linen. The hangers were stamped directly onto the panel before adhering the dresses.
The sentiment is made from a couple of STAMPlorations sets: "simply" and "stunning" are from Blossom Overture and "have a" and "birthday" are from Sentiment Builders: Happy.

Such beautiful paper piecing and clever to tie in the challenges. Such a fabulous card with great colours x
ReplyDeleteLove how you have done this card, this dress stamp is so versatile. They really look like mini dresses.
ReplyDeleteNow for a funny moment, there I am staring at the card and thinking how did she cut out that hanger so thin thst the background shows through perfectly, ohhh yes it was truly a blonde moment (I was once a very very blonde person and my sign name in the deaf community is blonde because of my pale hair and also cause at times so much seems to go over the top of my head so a name appropriate in deaf and hearing world). Ahh I love those moments when it suddenly dawns on me :)
There are those darling "Audrey Hepburn" dresses again ... gorgeous, in any print! LOve your background ... come over and show me how?

Gorgeous, Shirley ... my sort of party dress ... polka dots and elegance rolled into one ... do you do full sized ones? Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThose paper pieced dresses are magnificent ... so very glad you joined us a Fusion Card Challenge.
ReplyDeleteSure do love the 'polkie' dot party frocks!
