Hot Pink Birthday

Pink isn't my go-to colour, but I've got a thing about hot pink at the moment.  This card is for Little Tangles birthday challenge, as part of Neat & Tangled's month-long birthday bash.

There are loads of birthday activities going on all month, so keep popping over to check them out.   This particular challenge closes in two days.  I might just try to sneak another card in before then.

Think Pink Flowers - And Leaves

Penny Black have started a new game called Play Along.  For their first game they are playing along with Runway Inspired Challenge.  Here's who's on the runway:

This week's CAS(E) This Sketch has lined up perfectly for what I wanted to do:

Eventually.  I had just finished making a version of this card with the happy horizontal (let's face it, horizontal is a happy place to be) when the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge was posted, and I just had to combine the two challenges - look, the flower on the sketch is even leaning like the model!  So I made another card nearer to the sketch - just flipped the main part of the sentiment to run up the left instead of down the right of the flowers.

Stamps: Penny Black: 40-103 Delicate Florals, 3682C Birthday Girl (masked)
Happy die: Memory Box
Sequins: Neat and Tangled
Coloured with Tombows

Inlaying die-cuts is my latest new trick.  New for me, not my idea.  And I've just thought of another card for another challenge using the inlaying thingy, so I'm off to try that before it goes out of my head.

Feel Better Buttons

The current Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger has a collage inspiration photo.

One magazine that I bought recently had a freebie of papers and matching collage-style toppers.  Normally I don't get round to using them, but they were just right for this challenge.  I added a few other bits and pieces, and managed to get my fix of stamping on one of the pieces, and added some buttons so that I can enter it into the CAS-ual Fridays Buttons challenge.

Sweet Pea

I've missed the last couple of One Layer Wednesdays, for no other reason than I didn't get A into G in time.  Ardyth is hosting this week's challenge - SPEECHLESS.  Not that Ardyth is speechless.  Oh, no ;)  The idea is to make a card that is speechless, i.e. has no sentiment, although you could convey the sentiment in the image if you wanted.

A baby image doesn't really need a sentiment, does it?

This is also for Melissa's baby shower over at CASology which is open for two more weeks.  Congratulations, Melissa and family on your newest addition!

Summer Flowers

Penny Black's Beat the Heat challenge is coming to a close so I've made one last card, using my new Bashful die.

This time I've used the colours from ColourQ.  Can you believe it's their 200th challenge?  They must have been going for, like, evah!

I'm also entering it into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, BRIGHT AND SUNNY.

Same procedure as the last card - distress, spritz, die cut, colour, stick, stamp.  The sentiment is made up from two stamps in the Penny Black 30-105 Gratitude set.

Bright and Sunny (and some birthday news)

I've been playing with my new Penny Black Bashful die and co-ordinating Blush stamp.  The die isn't meant to fit the stamp exactly, but they complement each other.

I've used the sketch from this week's CAS(E) This Sketch:

Penny Black's Beat the Heat challenge is still open:

And the Penny Black Saturday Challenge for August is BRIGHT AND SUNNY, with prizes on offer:

£20 voucher

I dusted a piece of white card with Distress Inks - Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Brushed Corduroy - then spritzed the piece with water and blotted the excess off.  I coloured the stamp with Tombow markers and stamped it directly onto the piece.  Then I cut the die shape from watercolour paper and coloured it with the same markers and fixed it over the stamped image.  I stamped the sentiment on a spare piece of watercolour paper, punched 2 holes and threaded cord through and around the back of the piece, then mounted it onto the cardstock.

Neat and Tangled are celebrating their first birthday with a month-long birthday bash (now that's my kind of birthday!).  And I'll be joining in the celebrations as a guest designer on one of the days!  But don't wait around for me, get over there now because there are giveaways to be had throughout the month.  See you over there!

Widescreen

I've gone widescreen.  But does it make my bum look bigger?  Wida asked me to make my photos bigger then she doesn't have to strain her eyes.  Ever obliging, I've changed my margins so that I can display larger photos without them overlapping the sidebar.  But then, not only does my bum look bigger, you'll now be able to see the mistakes on my cards.

The inspiration for this card comes from these killer heels at Less is More:

The bows on the back of the shoes reminded me of this bathing beauty who has matching swimsuit and shoes.  And she's also diving into Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where, appropriately, anything goes!

All stamps by Acid Drops and What Nots, coloured with Tombows.
