STAMPlorations Spring Fling Encore

Are you playing along with the Spring Fling at STAMPlorations?  Loads of chances to win prizes, and take advantage of discounts in the Spring Fling section of the store.

I've been playing with powders again, using the Perched Bird stencil.

I just love how they react when spritzed.  The sentiment is from Deepti's Little Love Birthday Wishes.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #268 - New Release

Bloomin Coffee and You
Sweet Kindness

We've got a new release of two coffee-themed stamps over at STAMPlorations today, Bloomin Coffee And You, and Sweet Kindness.  My first card uses the Bloomin Coffee And You set.

I stamped and cut out the flower from the tag, swished a load of Mustard Seed Distress Oxide across my card panel, and added some of those lovely sentiments from the set.

And here's my card using the Sweet Kindness set.

The background for this card was a happy accident.  I had stencilled some clear paste through a Pebble Weaves stencil, then when it was dry I sprinkled walnut stain coloured powders and spritzed.  A bit too heavily.  Lots of surplus colour.  So I mopped it all up with another piece of mixed media paper, and this is the result.  I love how it picked up a bit of the stencil pattern.  I coloured the image with matching colours, fussy cut and added a sentiment from the set.

STAMPlorations Inspiration #267

Hello, it's Inspiration Tuesday at STAMPlorations, and today I've got a mixed media card for you.  I started off by stencilling clear paste through the Tribal Triangles stencil, then once it was dry I sponged Distress Inks over. The inks didn't blend very smoothly on this particular card, and it had a mottled appearance, so I embraced that by spritzing all over with water and lifting more of the ink for a definite mottled look.

Using a variety of stamps from Mixed Media Grunge, Scribbly Splattery Grunge and Mixed Media Elements and the same ink colours, I stamped randomly over the panel.  Then for contrast, using Versafine Onyx Black I stamped Happy Birthday from Baa Baa, Mmmm from And Coffee and the circles from Art Marks 2.  My focal image is from Sketchy Coffee Cups.

Seize The Birthday - Monochromatic

Hello!  We've got a new challenge for you at Seize The Birthday - Monochromatic.  Or anything goes if you'd rather, as long as it's a birthday theme.

For my card, I inked an embossing folder, spritzed and embossed.  Mounted that onto burgundy card then added a glass of wine, courtesy of Tim Holtz (cheers, Tim!) and a sentiment strip from Taylored Expressions.

Our surprise party guest is the lovely Dotty Jo.  Pop on over to the Seize The Birthday blog to see what Jo and the rest of the Design Team have created, and play along with us.

STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party

We're having a Spring Fling over at STAMPlorations with loads of chances to win prizes, and discounts in the Spring Fling section of the store.

Spring to me is birds.  We're lucky enough to be able to walk alongside the river every day with the dog.  We'll often see a buzzard, which we've nicknamed Leighton (UK peeps will get that), and if we're really lucky we'll see a kingfisher flying along the river or sitting on a branch.

The kingfisher (which works equally well as a kookaburra when you change the colours) is from Small Birds and the leaves are from Deepti's Leafy.
