No card today, just a couple of houses from the advent village:
I added a bit of Frantage embossing powder to the bottom of this one for snow.
And on this one I've covered all the baubles with liquid gloss. You can see it a little better in the pre-assembly photo.

Magenta Christmas Tree
This Christmas tree stamp by Magenta is one of my all-time favourites, so it's only fitting that I use it for their current challenge, Simply Christmas:
The current challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to use a tree or trees on your project:
CFC122: Show us your Clean And Simple projects that feature a tree or trees.
And the challenge at Less is More is to use a metallic element plus one colour.
My metallic element is silver embossing. My first instinct is always to go for gold (!) and the silver embossing powder tends to get neglected, but it got a run out today. I paired it with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink which I used with varying intensity. Because I wasn't adding a sentiment I painted a bit of ground under the tree to anchor it.

Gelli Background
After raving about my new Gelli Arts plate when I first got it, I couldn't let this week's Simon Says Wednesday challenge pass without entering a card that used a Gelli background. This is probably my all time favourite (so far!!) of all the backgrounds I've made. I love the earthy shades and the layers of lace and the hemp ribbon across the centre. Lace seems to give the best patterns.

Christmas Snowflakes and Day 8 Advent Village
I've been playing with Distress Inks again, this time to make a master board. I took an A4(European) sheet of card, sponged Distress Inks over it, then cut it into into 4 squares and 2 rectangles. On one of the squares I stamped the images and sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black, then sprayed a snowflake stamp with water and stamped it onto the panel. It was fairly wet so the first stamping was a bit blobby, but I like it. I stamped again without re-wetting and you can see in the bottom left corner how the purple ink was picked up from the centre stamping and laid down on the next stamping. I just continued like that on the panel, re-misting when necessary.
I'm entering this into Keep It Simple (a first for me) where the challenge is Snow,
CAS on Sunday where the challenge is Christmas,
Simon Says Monday Challenge, With a Flourish,
and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, Make Your Own Background (using Gelli plate or stencils if you can). Surprisingly, I didn't get the Gelli plate out for this one. But maybe there's still time...
