STAMPlorations Blog Hop - Balloons and Banners

Ooh, sloshing and splattering!  Welcome back to day 2 of the STAMPlorations July stamp release blog hop.  Today we're showcasing Deepti's set, Balloons and Banners:

I love making sloshy banners!  I used the reverse of the semi-circular and and line pennant, and then the others the correct way round.  I lined them all up on my acrylic block and stamped into a palette of Fired Brick, Festive Berries, Warm Honey and Mustard Seed, and spritzed before stamping.  Then splattered ;)

Here's another version.  The Distress Inks had got watered down by this stage, making a softer image, so I doodled around the banners.

For some fabulous inspiration, check out what the rest of the team made here.  And don't forget about prizes:

  • FIVE (5) commenters randomly drawn from the designers' blogs will each win the stamp set featured for the day.
  • ONE (1) commenter randomly drawn from the STAMPlorations blog will win a $25 gift certificate.
So don't forget to leave a comment at each stop, and pop back tomorrow for more STAMPlorations goodness from Shery.

STAMPlorations July Release Blog Hop - World Birthday Cakes

Hello, and welcome to the STAMPlorations blog hop for the July stamp release!  Today we're showcasing my World Birthday Cakes set.  The idea started with the Leaning Cake Tower of Pisa - it always reminds me of a wobbly cake, so I thought I'd draw it as one, complete with candles on the top.  Then came Sydney Opera Cake, Eiffel Tower Cake and finally Chrysler Building Cake.  A few telex-style sentiments and there you have it.

I made my background with my 5x3 Gelli Plate, some ARTplorations stencils and a pattern tool for the wavy lines, then stamped the Sydney Opera Cake onto spare card, coloured and mounted it.

For some fabulous inspiration, check out what the rest of the team made here.  And of course there are prizes:

  • FIVE (5) commenters randomly drawn from the designers' blogs will each win the stamp set featured for the day.
  • ONE (1) commenter randomly drawn from the STAMPlorations blog will win a $25 gift certificate.
So don't forget to leave a comment at each stop!

Happy Grungy Birthday!

I was playing around with the Mixed Media Grunge set, Distress Inks and some Spellbinders labels dies, and this is what I ended up with.  I started with the small reverse mask, sponging and stamping, then swapped it for the positive mask while I did the second reverse mask, then same again while I did the third reverse mask.  I swapped the reverse masks for the masks to stamp the chevrons, stripes and circles, then removed all the masks and added another circle and the sentiment.  And some splatters ;)

We've got some fabulous inspiration for you on the STAMPlorations blog today - pop on over for a look.  And if you fancy CASEing this or any of the DT's cards, you can enter your card into the CASE playground for a chance to win prizes.

Craft Stamper Reminder - Pens and Pencils

Hello!  I've got a little reminder for you for the Craft Stamper Take It, Make It Challenge.  This month it's pens and pencils.  Or markers, gel pens, Copics, you get the idea.

For today's card I stamped the card base with the text block from CityGirl using Versafine Smoky Grey, then swooshed Distress Markers (Tumbled Glass, Shabby Shutters and Spun Sugar) over each instance of 'Paris'.  On a spare piece of card I stamped the Eiffel Tower cake and sentiment and added colour with the fine tip of Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn and Pickled Raspberry, then adhered the piece onto the card base with washi tape.  Check here for some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team.

So - fancy your card being featured in Craft Stamper magazine?  Guest design spot? Blog profile?  Random prize sponsored by Chocolate Baroque?  Gotta-be-in-it-to-win-it!

Seize The Birthday - Anything That Flies

Time for a new Seize The Birthday challenge, this this time the topping is Anything That Flies.

I've used a watercoloured butterfly diecut, stitched on a wire body and antennae and added some chips of paua shell that I got from New Zealand.  For my base card, I stamped the border stamp from Mixed Media Grunge and cut up some strips of washi tape, added a sentiment and adhered my butterfly to the card.

This card also fits the bill for The Mixed Media Card Challenge, Butterflies with the optional element of Gold.

Round And Round The Garden

I'm over at STAMPlorations tonight with a Spotlight tutorial on this card.  Pop on over and take a look.

I'm entering it into Simon Says Monday Challenge, Homegrown Summer.  Not only is it garden-themed, the stamps are homegrown ;)

ETA: I'd also intended to enter this into the new Pinterest Inspired Challenge, but forgot, and then went away for a few days.

STAMPlorations Inspiration - Newlyweds

It's time for some more STAMPlorations inspiration!  Today I've used The Bee's Knees Newlyweds.  I stamped the image onto white card, then made a palette with Black Soot, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Scattered Straw, then sloshed the colours on.  The little hearts in the top left corner of the panel are from Deepti's new set, Balloons and Banners.

I matted the panel onto silver mirri card, then matted that onto white card.

If you fancy CASEing this, or any other card by the Design Team, why not link it up to the CASE playground for a chance to win?
